Bec Armitage - Photographer

Hi! I'm Bec.

I am a wife, mother, and the heart behind Bec Armitage Photography.

I've always found joy in romanticising the little things - I make homemade granola and playdough, build plywood castles for themed birthday parties, put up fairy lights when we're sick, and genuinely enjoy everyday life.

I also overthink, have lost 80% of my social skills since having small children, and am solidly in camp "Type-A". BUT, at my core, I genuinely believe that an ordinary life - deeply noticed - is an extraordinary one.

Anyway, that's me!

Noticing beauty since 1989.

Capturing it since 2025.

Motherhood

My journey into photography grew out of motherhood itself. It ignited within me an intense desire to freeze time. Watching my children grow so quickly made me realise that one day, all I will have left of this season of life are the photographs and videos it leaves behind.

It also taught me that mums are very often the ones behind the camera, quietly documenting everyone else's story, yet rarely appearing in it themselves. I believe everyone deserves to be seen, celebrated and remembered in the story of their family.

Motherhood has shaped both me and my craft. My sessions are relaxed, child-led and centred around genuine connection, creating space for authentic moments to unfold naturally.

Photography

I have spent a large part of my life drawn to pockets of beauty and wonder - whether through photography or simply taking the time to appreciate them.

Looking back, I've been capturing moments for over 20 years. The only difference is that my passion used to fight for its life through a first-generation iPhone.

Today, my editing style is rich, true to life and timeless. I'm drawn to connection, little details, and authentic moments over carefully choreographed poses.

I want to create photographs that look the way your memories feel.

Authentic, messy, full of life.
